The world is currently in a state of flux. We are now living in the end-times where all these prophecies are being fulfilled.

We are presently experiencing the prophecies of Jesus as recorded in Matthew Chapter 24 Verses 6 to 13, coming to pass.

  • Wars and rumours of wars
  • Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom
  • Famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places
  • People will betray and hate one another
  • Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many
  • Lawlessness will abound and the love of many will grow cold

The Apostle Paul further expanded on the state of mankind in the end days in 2 Timothy 3:1 to 5

  • In the last days perilous times will come
  • Men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents
  • Unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good
  • traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
  • In verse 13 Paul warns that in these end times men will grow more and more evil, deceiving others and themselves
  • In chapter 4 verses 3-4 Paul warns Timothy that the time will come when men will heed sound doctrine  (a belief or set of beliefs taught by the church) but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears (they only crave and want to hear that which pleases them and confirms their own desires rather than adherence to Biblical truth)  they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Paul's end-time warnings about the church in 1 Timothy 4:1-3

  • The Holy Spirit explicitly warned that in the latter times some would depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscious seared with a red hot iron, forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
  • In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3 Paul speaks of the great apostasy, the falling away from the true faith in Christ, directly before the anti-Christ is revealed.
  • In verses 7 to 10 of the same book and chapter Paul explains that this will happen when the great restrainer (The Holy Spirit) will be removed.

Jesus began His prophecies of these end time signs in Matthew chapter 24 with the warning

Be careful you are not deceived!
